Spend 60 days on the carnivore diet

Challenge started on the 15th of March, 2019.

My weight before the challenge is 73.5 kg. Health issues are adrenal issues, joint pains and soreness, low libido, low energy, sleep issues, thyroid disregulation, mild asthma, chronic sinus issues, anxiety. Basically I had a large collection of symptoms which can be traced back to autoimmune disease, which have developed after mold exposure while serving in the military.

1 week into the diet. I feel really weak. I regularly feel like I’m almost too weak to stand

After about 2 week in. Upping up my salt intake to 5-8 grams per day did wonders for my strength and helped me push through. I am starting to feel a lot stronger on the diet. Pretty much every day I kept feeling a tad bit better than the day before.

At 3 weeks I started to experiment with polyphasic sleep. The sleep deprivation has not helped. It was probably foolish to do two somewhat stressful experiments at the same time. So far I am hanging on. The lack of sleep has increased cravings and lessened my hunger for meat and fish, which is not ideal. At the moment I crave carbs, sweet foods and don’t get any satisfaction from eating plain meat. Hopefully I can get accustomed to my new sleep schedule and things will get smoother again.

I ended up staying on the carnivore diet about 2.5 months. It greatly helped with auto-immune issues, sleep issues, anxiety, and many other health issues. After 2,5 months I started to include back foods like sweet potatoes and forest berries was because I wasn’t sleeping as well as I would like on the carnivore diet, which hurt my work performance. Also my workout intensity was lacking even after being fully adapted. I am still mostly eating carnivorous and very happy with it.
